First Devlog Post: The Undergod


Welcome to the first post about this game! My name is Pau and I am the person developing this game. I usually take care of art and writting, since coding is not my strongest skill. However, I will do my best to make this work and look cool.

Since it has a fairly solid base to be called an actual game, I'd like to introduce my project to you: THE UNDERGOD.

The game is set in a world where humans are surviving against some very resilient man-eating monsters called "undergods". You won't play as a human, but as Bhalgrogh, one of these undergods. But! There is a twist! He is, in fact, a very curious creature and wants to eat betroots and befriends humans.

Which leads us to the main feature of the gameplay. You won't kill your foes, you will give them a hug and talk to them.

Bhalgrogh's superior wants him to drop his betroots and go kill some humans, but I'm sure he'll manage to befriend some cool human and let go of his monsterly ways. In time, I'm sure humans will learn to like him and even join in his adventures!

According to the main antagonist, betroot = bad.

Currently, dialogues, breaking obstacles, two bossfights, visuals, menus and la Chancla aren't implemented. But game features like hugs, dialogue, roaring, checkpoints, collectibles and overall movement are already working! There is a working Test level, which will be the main feature of my next post!
